STS#420 (previously called Rexlube #420)is a product specifically designed to replace white lead. It contains no metallic lead or lead oxide and has been thoroughly tested to insure the user satisfactory service in area where white lead had previously been used. It provides a lubricating film that greatly exceeds white lead. Unlike molybdenum disulfide compounds, it is a clean, WHITE, easy to use compound which pound for pound will go much further than white lead.
Benefits:
Replaces white lead
Contains no metallic lead or lead oxide
Mixes with light oils
For Press Applications:
For applications where film lubrications are required, STS#420 will form a film with greater EP properties than white lead. As a result, a lesser amount of STS#420 will be required. An additional advantage is that bearings or gears will not freeze or corrode on the shaft when this product has been used in pressing operations.
For Cutting Applications:
STS#420 mixes well with oils and can be used as a lubricant coolant for thread cutting, reaming, tapping, and drilling. It should be mixed with the cutting oil in the same ratio as the previously used white lead. The result will be a decrease of load conditions and a smoother, cooler operation as well as greatly extended tool life.
Anti-seize applications:
STS#420 is an excellent anti-seize compounds. It will provide studs and bolts with protection against corrosion and freezing. When used as a thread dressing, it will form a corrosion-resistant film over the over the entire surface, will not harden and will reduce torque requirements for makeup and breakout.
